***SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THREE DARK CROWNS***
Summary from Goodreads:
The battle for the Crown has begun, but which of the three sisters will prevail?
With the unforgettable events of the Quickening behind them and the Ascension Year underway, all bets are off. Katharine, once the weak and feeble sister, is stronger than ever before. Arsinoe, after discovering the truth about her powers, must figure out how to make her secret talent work in her favor without anyone finding out. And Mirabella, once thought to be the strongest sister of all and the certain Queen Crowned, faces attacks like never before—ones that put those around her in danger she can’t seem to prevent.
In this enthralling sequel to Kendare Blake’s New York Times bestselling Three Dark Crowns, Fennbirn’s deadliest queens must face the one thing standing in their way of the crown: each other.
Even though there were mixed reviews for Three Dark Crowns, I enjoyed it and was looking forward to One Dark Throne. This one didn't disappoint. I enjoyed being back in the 3 girls' worlds. It took me a while to be able to keep all the characters straight but Blake did a really good job of setting with world building so each were different.
While reading the first book, I had picked a queen I was rooting for but during this one I changed my mind. Without giving a spoiler, certain people seemed to change for no reason and one so was annoying.
Blake planned for this to be a duology but was contracted to make it 4 books instead. I wonder how that impacted this one. It seemed to be going one way and then made a swerve. I look forward to reading the last 2 books in the series. This was a solid 2nd book for sure.
