Q: What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre, or is it a certain type of book?

Oooh, guilty reading pleasure? I'd have to say young adult books. Since I am a good 20 years more A(dult) than Y(oung). I think that I enjoy them so much because they are usually quick reads and they are different from my life. As a single mom of two little boys, I don't really want to read about single moms with kids. I'd rather read about someone completely different from me. What about you?

  1. Good answer! I used to feel guilty about reading YA but no more! Lots of adults love so no need for guilt :)

    1. I guess this is one time when it is a GOOD thing that hardly anyone I know reads...I don't have to defend myself in reading YA! ;-) Thanks for the friend request on GR. I added you asap!

  2. I'm still a teenager so I'm not embarrassed by reading YA book but I think they'd become my guilty little pleasure when I'm older. :)

    1. I think that it is one of the most popular genres right now but it's good to hear that I am not the only one that enjoys it ;-)

    1. Yes, you probably will but when I was in college I wanted to read older. I didn't want to read about my age then. As I've gotten older my tastes have changed back to reading YA. Full circle. Thanks for the follows. Following back!

  4. I definitely think that as you become more A than Y it starts to feel like a guilty pleasure. Other adults look at you and are like really?! But as the years add on I still find myself sticking to the YA section, and I can't imagine myself ever leaving it. Those teenyboppers will just have to get out of my way! Muhaha... ;)

  5. Ha, almost all of my friends read and even though most of them are my age some of them the read Tolstoy and Voltaire so I have to defend my books a lot. (-_-ll)

Odd because I'm a young adult reading young adult books... no need to be defending my book choice. But I still do. Just becasue they're not intellectual doesn't mean they aren't awesome! :D

    1. I've learned in all my years that sometimes people read "intellectual" books and don't know what in the heck they even are about! LOL I feel strongly for reading what you want to read. My mom reads books that I wouldn't touch but she enjoys them and that's what counts!

  6. I'm only a few years out of the "young adult" age bracket, but even I get strange looks sometimes when I mention my reading preferences. I just think it's important to read what you enjoy, whatever that may be!

    1. YA rocks! Glad that others love it so much too. And I totally agree that the whole point is to read what we want to read because we like it.

Thanks for the follow. Off to check your F&F.
