Summary from Goodreads:

What if the world's worst serial killer...was your dad?

Jasper "Jazz" Dent is a likable teenager. A charmer, one might say.

But he's also the son of the world's most infamous serial killer, and for Dear Old Dad, Take Your Son to Work Day was year-round. Jazz has witnessed crime scenes the way cops wish they could—from the criminal's point of view.

And now bodies are piling up in Lobo's Nod.

In an effort to clear his name, Jazz joins the police in a hunt for a new serial killer. But Jazz has a secret—could he be more like his father than anyone knows?

First let me say that the author is a nice looking man. Go look him up on The Google. Go ahead, I will wait. You know you want to see what he looks like now that I mentioned it. You back? On with the review then.

The author's looks aside, the man can write. I loved this story and am glad that I listened to it. Narrator Charlie Thurston made me shiver every.single.time he said "wakey wakey" and he was dead on with the creepiness that was Jasper's "dear old dad".  His range in voices is amazing.

It had been awhile since I had read a good thriller and this one kept me guessing with each twist in the story. Jasper was a multi-layered character that was both likeable and highly unlikeable at the same time. This conflict is a testament to Lyga's incredible writing skill. As his history is revealed - how his father trained him to be a serial killer - it is easy to be conflicted as to whether or not he can be a killer. Is he what his father thinks he is or is he not?

The wide cast of characters was fantastic. Howie is my favorite character. He is funny and so loyal to Jasper. A true friend to the end.

I look forward to reading (or listening to) the sequel!
