ARC Envy

Every week several of my favorite bloggers post vlogs or posts of all the great book hauls they've received for the week. Since I'm a tiny little fish in the huge book blogging pond, my mailbox isn't stuffed with all the great ARCs that they get. Dana's ARC Envy is my way of highlighting an ARC that I *wish* had been sent to me too.

Title: Undercurrent
Author: Paul Blackwell
Publisher: HarperTeen
Expected Publication Date: July 2013

Judging a book by its cover: love this cover. Super creepy. Can't help but tilt my head to the side to see it. You can't do it either, right?

Know anything about the author?  Nothing except that he's super cool on Twitter. This is his first novel.

Why do I want it? Looks different. Creepy. Suspenseful.

Summary from Goodreads:

In this suspenseful teen thriller with a touch of the otherworldly, perfect for fans of Neal Shusterman, a boy goes over a waterfall and wakes up to find himself in a twisted version of the life he knew.

A shadowy figure. An intense roar. The sensation of falling—fast.

That’s all Callum Harris remembers from his tumble over the waterfall. But when he wakes up in a hospital bed and finds his best friend trying to kill him, Callum knows something is seriously wrong. Unfortunately for him, the mysteries are just getting started.

Why are his parents acting like he’s some big sports star all of a sudden? And why are all the buildings in town more run-down than Callum remembers? Worst of all...what happened to Callum’s brother? Either Callum has gone seriously crazy or something happened when he went over the falls. Something impossible. Callum needs answers, and now. Because in this twisted new version of the life Callum knew, his former best friend isn’t the only one who wants to see him dead.

Filled with mind-bending suspense and unsettling thrills, Undercurrent is a grippingly paced teen debut that will pull you under and never let go.

What ARC are you envying this week?

  1. Ha, this one's one that I do not have, but I'm totally okay without it. However, mysteries/thrillers aren't my main reads of choice, so *shrugs*. Hope you manage to get your hands on it!

    1. I haven't read that one or the first one in that series. Please do. I'm always interested in tips about ARC acquiring! Me too! I've got The Archived to start soon. Just want to get a bit closer to the date. Have a couple of review books to get to first.

    1. Thanks...I'm glad you like the new feature! I thought it would be fun. And I wanted to have an excuse to play around in Photoshop so I just HAD to make a button for it :-)

Oooh, I have Project Cain on my TBR list too. I'll have to look up the others you mentioned because I don't know about those.
